{"id":41156,"date":"2023-06-11T18:36:54","date_gmt":"2023-06-11T15:36:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/rada.vision\/?page_id=41156"},"modified":"2023-06-11T18:36:54","modified_gmt":"2023-06-11T15:36:54","slug":"call-for-action-on-belarus-at-the-2023-international-labour-organisation-ilo-conference","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/coordinationcouncil.org\/en\/doc\/call-for-action-on-belarus-at-the-2023-international-labour-organisation-ilo-conference","title":{"rendered":"Call for Action on Belarus at the 2023 International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Coordination Council is joining the appeal by <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Belarusian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/tsikhanouskaya.org\/en\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Office of Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and urge all participants of the ILO Conference to join the discussions on Belarus and support the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilo.org\/gb\/GBSessions\/GB347\/ins\/WCMS_872783\/lang--en\/index.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">decision<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to adopt measures under Article 33 of the ILO Constitution and other actions proposed by the ILO Governing Body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For more than 18 years, the government of Belarus has violated the rights of individuals to the freedom of association and collective bargaining, deliberately disregarding the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilo.org\/public\/english\/standards\/relm\/gb\/docs\/gb291\/pdf\/ci-belarus.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">recommendations<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of the Report of the Commission of Inquiry appointed under Article 26 of the ILO Constitution in July 2004 and ignoring its obligations under the ILO Constitution. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead, the Belarusian authorities escalated repressions and intentionally and systematically destroyed and dismantled the remaining independent trade unions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The ILO Conference must endorse the measures suggested by the ILO Governing Body to hold the Government of Belarus accountable and to protect the fundamental rights of workers in Belarus.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;
